Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
West Brookfield Select Board moves polling place, cuts early voting hours nearly in half. Town Clerk Clarissa Rose won unanimous approval to relocate the town's polling site from a leaking Senior Center room to the former West Brookfield Elementary School for local elections, and to trim early in-person voting for the November 3 state election from 56 hours to 32. One member objected, saying "I don't like anything that reduces anybody's ability to vote," though the vote carried without recorded opposition.
The board also voted unanimously to recommend Nicholas Corman to a vacant Board of Health seat, approved six other appointments including Renee Adams White to the Board of Assessors, and heard that USDA Rural Development recently distributed $63 million in regional funding. A short-term rental impact fee, stalled for three to four years, is getting another look.
